The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) published its 2024–25 Annual Report, outlining a year of expanded financial intelligence production for law enforcement and national security agencies and increased supervisory activity under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act. The report states that FINTRAC generated more than 6,200 financial intelligence disclosure packages, based on more than 2,700 unique disclosures, and that 96% of feedback from Canadian law enforcement and national security agencies rated the intelligence as actionable. It highlights more than 100 disclosures supporting illicit opioid investigations between November 2024 and the end of March 2025, as well as 73 disclosures supporting auto theft investigations. On supervision and enforcement, FINTRAC conducted over 1,300 assessment activities, an increase of more than 40% from the prior year, issued 23 notices of violation totalling more than CAD 25 million, and disclosed 32 non-compliance cases to law enforcement for potential criminal investigation.
