The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission has published a revised version of its Handbook on International Co-operation and Information Exchange, a guide for regulators and judicial and law enforcement officials. The handbook sets out measures intended to support the integrity of the Territory’s financial and legal institutions and frames cross-border collaboration as a key tool for addressing money laundering, terrorism and terrorist financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The release also points to the British Virgin Islands’ long-standing use of mutual legal assistance and ongoing efforts to review and strengthen its regimes in line with global developments in combating crime and regulatory breaches.
