Spain’s Financial Education Plan, promoted by the Bank of Spain, the Spanish Securities Commission and the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, has opened registrations for the fifteenth edition of the Finanzas Para Todos School Financial Education Programme and published the rules for the 2025-2026 national school financial education competition. The programme provides teachers and students in Compulsory Secondary Education, upper secondary education and vocational training with classroom resources to build financial skills across subjects, covering topics such as saving, budgeting, responsible consumption, financial products, payment methods, investment and insurance. The content, renewed in 2024, is aligned with the 2023 European Union financial competences framework for children and young people, including digital finance, sustainability and civic and entrepreneurial competences; previous editions involved more than 8,000 teachers and 550,000 students. Participation is free and provides access to downloadable materials and supporting resources, with versions in Catalan, Basque, Galician, Valencian and English to be released during the school year. The complementary, voluntary competition is open to students at participating schools and keeps two categories, cadet for the first three years of ESO and youth for the fourth year of ESO, upper secondary education and intermediate vocational training; enrolment for both the programme and the competition is open until 27 March 2026.
