The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with QNB Group to facilitate banking access for QFC-licensed firms and explore financing structures to support Qatar’s capital markets. QFC will refer newly licensed firms to QNB for corporate account opening, while QNB will offer banking products and services to firms and their employees, aiming to shorten onboarding times. The organisations will also explore integrating their digital platforms so firms can open accounts directly through QFC’s online platform. The capital markets cooperation will examine Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programmes, Special Purpose Company (SPC) structures and financing platforms through QFC to connect businesses with broader funding sources. Other areas for exploration include treasury and liquidity management, tokenisation and digital assets. Technical working groups are planned to advance these initiatives. The agreement follows an earlier memorandum announced in March 2025 between QFC and Qatar National Bank focused on banking innovation, fintech development and alternative funding sources.
