The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan published a consumer alert explaining how fraudsters use clickbait headlines and images in emails and messaging apps to entice users to click links or install applications, often posing as banks, bloggers, online shops or other organisations. The notice describes how clicks can lead to phishing sites that imitate legitimate resources such as news portals and online stores, where users may inadvertently disclose account credentials or be prompted to enter bank details that cybercriminals then capture. It also warns that some messages include videos requiring installation of a special app, which may contain malware capable of stealing personal data and enabling remote control of the device; indicators include slow-loading pages that redirect elsewhere and prompts to download content. Recommended actions include closing suspicious pages immediately, downloading nothing, not entering requested data, disabling installation from unknown sources, using and updating antivirus software, and considering browser extensions such as AdBlock, uBlock Origin, Ghostery and AdGuard; additional materials are referenced via Fingramota.kz.
