The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM), together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, has signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement aimed at developing Brazil’s agribusiness sector through greater use of capital markets financing. The cooperation focuses on sharing technical expertise, improving diagnostics and analytical work, and formulating and disseminating initiatives to expand access to funding for agricultural activities through the securities market. Planned activities include joint studies and analyses, the production and dissemination of technical knowledge, and actions to promote and develop new financing instruments for the agribusiness sector. Coordination will sit with the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy, supported by the Department of Policy for Financing to the Agribusiness Sector (DEFIN/SPA/MAPA) and CVM’s Superintendency of Securitization and Agribusiness. The agreement will run for two years from its publication in Brazil’s Official Gazette and may be extended through an addendum.
