The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission announced that Thailand’s three financial regulators have completed the third cohort of the Responsible Voices for Finfluencer programme and awarded certificates to 24 participants. Run jointly with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Bank of Thailand, the initiative is designed to improve the accuracy, completeness and responsibility of financial, investment and insurance information shared on social media by Finfluencers, while building understanding of the legal and regulatory framework that applies to such communications. The third cohort was held over two days on 20 and 28 May. Across all three cohorts, 114 participants from 93 channels have now received certificates, with a combined audience of more than 34.5 million follower accounts. Participants received direct briefings from the three regulators on their roles, relevant laws and supervisory expectations. Insurance topics included the rollout of electronic policies, the prohibition on offering foreign insurance policies, responsible insurance communications, protection of policyholder rights and the need to avoid misleading disclosures that could expose communicators to enforcement action.
