Qatar Central Bank and the Saudi Central Bank have begun the phased acceptance of their national payment cards, HIMYAN and mada, in each other’s markets. The initiative expands HIMYAN’s regional reach following its earlier extension to Bahrain and supports closer integration between the two countries’ payment systems. Technical and operational integration and connectivity arrangements have been completed. Card use and access to payment services will expand as the approved integration phases are completed, with the aim of making cross-border payments more efficient and widening access to national payment solutions.
