Morocco's Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) and Madagascar’s Banking and Financial Supervision Commission (CSBF) signed a memorandum of understanding to frame and structure cooperation in supervising insurance and reinsurance activities. The MoU sets out a coordinated approach based on regular dialogue and deeper mutual understanding of supervisory practices, with a focus on common priorities including operators’ financial soundness, risk management, protection of policyholders, and adapting supervisory frameworks to evolving markets and practices. The cooperation is positioned as part of South-South collaboration and capacity strengthening, with the CSBF described as Madagascar’s regulator for banking, financial and similar institutions and as performing specific supervisory and control tasks in the insurance sector. Under the partnership, the two authorities plan to develop cooperation arrangements tailored to shared supervisory challenges in the insurance sector.
