Malaysia's Ministry of Finance announced higher unsubsidized fuel prices for Oct. 29 to Nov. 4, 2026, under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), while maintaining subsidized prices. Unsubsidized RON97 and RON95 petrol prices will rise by MYR0.10 per liter, while diesel will increase by MYR0.20 per liter. Recipients of BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) will continue to pay MYR1.99 per liter, compared with the unsubsidized price of MYR4.42. The subsidy covers MYR2.43 per liter, or 55% of the unsubsidized price. BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel) recipients will continue to pay MYR2.10 per liter against an unsubsidized price of MYR5.27, with the subsidy covering MYR3.17, or 60%. Access to subsidized fuel remains subject to monthly eligibility limits. The increases follow higher Brent crude prices amid concerns about supply disruption in West Asia and a rise in refined diesel prices in Singapore. Fuel subsidies are expected to total around MYR40 billion in 2027, as previously announced in Budget 2027.
