The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) reviewed its October activities, highlighting the establishment of a distributed ledger technology (DLT) pilot and consultations on accounting standards. Created under Resolution 249, the pilot takes forward a proposal completed in September, providing a framework for experimental securities issuance, trading and settlement. Tests will assess technical, operational and legal viability and identify risks and regulatory gaps to inform possible regulatory or legislative changes. CVM also presented results from its Tokenization Working Group to market participants. The accounting consultations address alignment of investment fund accounting rules with international standards and amendments to Technical Pronouncements CPC 18 (R3) and CPC 36 (R3). Other reporting and information measures included revised rules for submitting and accessing Credit Information System data and a call for input on the Corporate Governance Report. Alongside these policy developments, CVM’s Economic Bulletin reported growth in the regulated market in the third quarter of 2026 and introduced methodological improvements.
