The Angola Capital Markets Commission (CMC) held a workshop on Oct. 30, 2026, on implementing targeted financial sanctions under the plan to implement Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations. The training covered the sanctions framework established by United Nations Security Council resolutions and FATF recommendations, alongside practical implementation challenges. Angola’s progress on its agreed FATF action plan was reviewed in September under enhanced monitoring, with the CMC participating in the national delegation. Operational training addressed internal organizational arrangements, screening, freezing and reporting procedures, including a practical exercise on identifying designated persons. The workshop also highlighted the recently approved Law No. 10/26 of Oct. 6, which amends the legislation governing the designation and execution of international legal acts. The law clarifies the mechanisms for receiving United Nations lists and implementing sanctions without delay.
