The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo discussed financial services transparency, complaints handling and institutional mechanisms for protecting consumers with the Bank of Italy. Deputy Governor Nesrin Shileku-Shala and Consumer Protection Department Director Suzan Dervari met Bank of Italy Deputy Governor Chiara Scotti and consumer protection officials following a European supervisory conference in Rome. The talks also explored opportunities for institutional cooperation drawing on the Bank of Italy’s experience and practices. The 13th Joint European Supervisory Authorities Consumer Protection Day, held on Nov. 4, 2026, focused on fair access to financial services, financial product governance and the impact of artificial intelligence on consumer protection. The exchanges align with Kosovo’s central bank’s existing focus on strengthening consumer protection. In June, it discussed improvements to its consumer protection and financial education framework with a World Bank technical assistance mission, including alignment with relevant European Union frameworks and international standards.
