The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Finternet Lab, an initiative of the Networks for Humanity Foundation, to collaborate on developing secure, interoperable digital infrastructure. The work will explore integrating GLEIF’s verifiable Legal Entity Identifier (vLEI) credentials with Finternet Lab’s open-source tools to support trusted digital identity and transactions. The collaboration will examine how vLEI credentials can work with Finternet Lab capabilities including UNITS, DeDi frameworks and transaction protocols, with a focus on challenges around digital identity, data provenance and interoperability across ecosystems. Joint initiatives are intended to develop real-world vLEI use cases spanning finance, sustainability and supply chains. Next steps include pilots and hackathons, alongside work to define common standards and governance models for implementation.
