The Australian Securities & Investments Commission has cancelled the Australian credit licence of Queensland-based credit services provider Chuuse Pty Ltd after becoming aware the firm had ceased to engage in credit activities. The cancellation took effect on 11 August 2025 and was made under section 54(1)(b) of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth). Chuuse held credit licence number 423638 since 19 July 2012 and was authorised to engage in credit activities as a credit provider. The company may apply to the Administrative Review Tribunal for review of ASIC’s decision. ASIC also noted that Chuuse’s sole director between 23 April 2021 and 8 March 2023, Mr Darren Thomas Edden-Brown, was banned on 12 April 2023 for eight years from engaging in credit activities or providing financial services, and from controlling or acting as an officer of an entity that engages in credit activities or carries on a financial services business, after ASIC found he was not fit and proper and not adequately trained or competent.
