The Ontario Securities Commission announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Grant Vingoe, has been elected Vice-Chair of the International Organization of Securities Commissions for the 2026 to 2028 term. The appointment places Vingoe in IOSCO's senior leadership, where he will support Chair Jean-Paul Servais on the global standard setter's work to promote investor protection, fair and efficient markets, and financial stability. In the role, Vingoe will work with regulators from advanced and emerging markets on market integrity, investor confidence, financial innovation, cross-border cooperation, and systemic risk. IOSCO represents more than 95 per cent of the world's capital markets across more than 130 jurisdictions. The vice-chair role will run concurrently with Vingoe's term as OSC CEO, which continues until December 31, 2029, and he will serve alongside Toshiyuki Miyoshi of Japan's Financial Services Agency, Mark Uyeda of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and Islam Azzam of Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority.
