The State Bank of Vietnam reported that the Vietnam Banking Trade Union has launched the banking sector's 2026 Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and Workers' Month. The two campaigns are being run under themes focused on improving occupational safety and hygiene management in the digital era and on worker innovation to raise labour productivity across the banking system. At the launch ceremony, Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung called on units across the sector to build safe and professional workplaces, strengthen dialogue with employees, expand welfare support including health checks and occupational psychological counselling, address issues relating to benefits, policies and working conditions, and intensify inspections and supervision of occupational safety and hygiene compliance. He also asked units to encourage operational and digital initiatives to improve productivity, quality and efficiency. The release noted that in 2025 all directly subordinate and grassroots unions had prepared plans and organised related activities. During the programme, the union provided support gifts to workers with serious illnesses at BIDV, VietinBank, Agribank and the National Money Printing Factory in Hanoi, and signed cooperation agreements with partner companies on member welfare benefits. Detailed preferential programmes will be circulated separately to units across the banking system.
