Argentina’s Securities Commission (CNV) chair Roberto E. Silva spoke at the 8th Specialisation Programme on Anti-Money Laundering hosted by the Catholic University of Argentina’s business school, focusing on regulatory developments in the capital markets and the CNV’s framework for virtual asset service providers (PSAVs) in the context of Law No. 27.739 amending Argentina’s AML/CTF and proliferation financing law. Silva highlighted recent CNV rulemaking aimed at normalisation, innovation and development of the capital market, including measures to streamline processes and remove operational frictions. He pointed to the Automatic Public Offering regime as an example, covering instruments such as negotiable obligations (ONs), closed-end mutual funds (FCICs), financial trusts (FFs) and shares, and characterised Argentina’s PSAV regulation as an innovative approach to virtual assets. CNV’s head of money laundering prevention, Regina Cerone, also participated as a speaker.
