The Capital Markets Board of Türkiye announced the completion of its 2026 winter-term, week-long education seminar for university students, aimed at increasing the visibility of capital markets and improving financial literacy. The programme ran from 26 to 30 January 2026 and received 4,360 applications via e-Devlet, with 124 students hosted for in-person training at the Board’s Ankara campus. Applications came from 187 universities in Türkiye and 17 abroad, with the highest number from Istanbul University (267) and Marmara University (249). The largest share of applicants were studying economics (643), business administration (543), law (508) and engineering (476). Training delivered by Board experts covered the Board’s role and responsibilities, Türkiye’s financial system, capital markets legislation and instruments, selection of capital markets professionals, and supervision, oversight and licensing. The seminar also included a Global Money Week session under the “Cyber World and Financial Footprints” programme titled “Finfluencer or Fraudencer?”, focusing on shell accounts, financial scams, cyber risks, digital-trace-based economic manipulation, and financial communication and social media literacy; participants received certificates, bringing the total issued to nearly 18,000 to date.
