The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported on a delegation visit to the Republic of Korea, where it held meetings with the Bank of Korea, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) and BNK Financial Group to discuss financial sector cooperation, capital market development and related capacity building. Discussions with Bank of Korea Governor Rhee Chang-yong covered the current state and outlook for both countries’ financial markets, strengthening bilateral cooperation and potential expansion of cross-border banking services. The Agency also flagged opportunities to receive technical support and exchange experience to improve Kazakhstan’s capital market as it develops a stock market development programme to 2030 and prepares a new law on the securities market. Talks with FSC Chair Lee Ok-won focused on further capital market development, including regulation of digital financial assets, and considered arranging training for Agency staff in areas such as digitisation and financial technologies. Separately, BNK Financial Group presented plans to further develop its subsidiary, JSC “BNK Commercial Bank”, with discussions also covering expanding lending to the real sector and attracting direct foreign investment.

The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of Kazakhstan reported on a visit to Korea to discuss financial sector cooperation, capital market development and capacity building with the Bank of Korea, the Financial Services Commission and BNK Financial Group. Talks covered bilateral cooperation, expansion of cross-border banking services, technical support for Kazakhstan’s stock market development programme to 2030 and new securities law, regulation of digital financial assets, staff training in digitisation and financial technologies, and BNK’s plans to develop its Kazakh subsidiary and expand lending and foreign investment.
