The Angola Capital Markets Commission (CMC) issued an enforcement alert after identifying serious indications that registered real estate valuation experts have had their identities misused, with unauthorised third parties issuing valuation reports using fraudulent identification and forged signatures. The CMC warned that these practices are intended to give a false appearance of legality to invalid documents and can undermine the security of the real estate and financial markets, and noted that the relevant cases are already being handled by the competent authorities to determine criminal liability. The CMC urged investors and financial institutions to rigorously verify the authenticity of valuation reports and the registration status of the experts before making decisions. It also emphasised the role of reporting suspected misconduct as a tool to protect market integrity and to strengthen the rigour and reliability of real estate valuations.
