Thailand Securities & Exchange Commission filed a criminal complaint with the Economic Crime Suppression Division against Exmix Co., Ltd. and Mr. Chatpon Sakrucharat for allegedly operating a digital asset dealer business without the required licence under Thailand’s Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses. The SEC also submitted information on the Exmix platform to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to block access, with public access to be disabled from 2 May 2026. The SEC found that from 20 September 2021 Exmix operated the websites https://www.exmix.co and https://wallet.exmix.io/ and provided services, or held itself out as available to provide services, for trading or exchanging digital assets for its own account in the normal course of business outside a digital asset exchange, including promotion in Thai via social media. These activities were treated as operating a digital asset dealer business under Section 3, breaching the licensing requirement in Section 26 and triggering penalties under Section 66; Mr. Chatpon is pursued under Section 94 as the responsible director. The case now proceeds through investigation by inquiry officials, prosecution by the public prosecutor and adjudication by the court, with the SEC monitoring progress and cooperating with relevant agencies. The access-blocking action is taken under the Royal Decree on Measures for Preventing and Suppressing Technology Related Crimes (No. 2) B.E. 2568 (2025), which authorises MDES to block unlicensed digital asset trading platforms.
