The Central Bank of Slovenia concluded the second edition of its “Masters of the Digital Future” debate project, a nationwide financial literacy initiative for primary and secondary students, and awarded the overall titles to teams from OŠ Maksa Pečarja and Gimnazija Bežigrad. Awards were presented at the closing event by Acting Governor Dr Primož Dolenc alongside Slovenian President Dr Nataša Pirc Musar, the project’s patron. The programme involved more than 600 pupils and students from 60 schools and targeted students in the last three years of primary school and in secondary school. In the experienced categories, primary-school team Vsaj prvi (OŠ Maksa Pečarja) beat Dirty All Stars (OŠ Tončka Čeč), while secondary-school team Bežigrad Amethyst beat Bežigrad Cobalt (both from Gimnazija Bežigrad); the inexperienced-category winners were Onigiri Ham Ham (primary school Domžale) and Ranae (Gimnazija in srednja šola Rudolfa Maistra Kamnik). The central bank reiterated its focus on strengthening youth financial education and promoting the inclusion of financial topics in Slovenia’s school system, noting it has also added the Bodi FIN project, run with the Ministry of Finance, to its regular programmes and continued the debates in collaboration with the Office of the Slovenian President. Winning teams receive a trip to Vienna including a tour of the Austrian central bank, and all finalists are scheduled to meet the Slovenian President at the Presidential Palace.
