The National Bank of Ukraine published an update on its special fundraising account opened on 24 February 2022 to support Ukraine’s defence forces, reporting that it has allocated almost UAH 43.4 billion for defence needs and transferred over UAH 5.4 billion from the account for this purpose. As of 1 February 2025, the account balance stood at over UAH 18.3 billion after receiving over UAH 11.7 billion during January and over UAH 61.8 billion in total since the start of the full-scale war. Disbursements since the start of the full-scale war were reported as directed mainly to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (over UAH 28.484 billion), the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine (over UAH 7.529 billion), the National Police of Ukraine (UAH 1.650 billion), the National Guard of Ukraine (over UAH 1.561 billion), the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (UAH 1.404 billion) and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (UAH 988 million), alongside further allocations to bodies including the Defence Procurement Agency (almost UAH 488.7 million) and the Security Service of Ukraine (over UAH 573 million). The NBU also reported that the equivalent of over UAH 40.9 billion of inflows was remitted from abroad in foreign currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, CNY, JPY, CHF, PLN and AUD. The central bank noted that information on the special account is updated daily on its website and that donations can be made by bank transfer or by card.
