Albania's Ministry of Finance reported that Finance Minister Petrit Malaj, speaking at the Albania-Israel Cyber Security Summit, said protecting the integrity of public financial systems has become a strategic national priority linked to public trust, transparency and economic stability. He also reiterated the government's commitment to strengthen the legal and institutional framework for combating money laundering and terrorist financing and to build more secure, transparent and resilient financial systems through international cooperation. The speech highlighted Albania's progress in modernising public finance administration, including almost complete digitalisation of financial processes, greater interoperability of electronic systems, and improved efficiency, control and transparency in managing public revenues and expenditure. According to the ministry's account, these investments have reduced costs, increased formalisation of the economy and strengthened information exchange, while cooperation with international partners was presented as important for aligning Albanian standards with advanced international practices, with Israel's experience in cyber security and data protection cited as a useful model.
