The Central Bank of Nicaragua announced that its President, Ovidio Reyes, is participating in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) 2025 Annual Meetings, including regional and constituency-level engagements and a planned bilateral meeting with IMF officials focused on Nicaragua’s economic outlook and programme agenda. During the meetings, Reyes joined a joint session of Central American, Panamanian and Dominican Republic central bank governors and finance ministers organised by the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department, centred on regional policy perspectives and priorities in a changing global environment. He also participated in the IMF Executive Board constituency meeting for countries represented by Brazil, including Nicaragua, where central bank governors and finance ministers discussed current global economic issues and reviewed the IMF’s work agenda. A bilateral meeting is scheduled with IMF counterparts including Rodrigo Valdés, Nigel Chalk, André Roncaglia, Ana Corbacho, Alina Carare and Gerardo Peraza to discuss Nicaragua’s current economic conditions and prospects, as well as Nicaragua’s work agenda with the IMF for the remainder of the current year and the next year.
