The Palestine Capital Market Authority hosted a delegation from the Business and Professional Women Network – Palestine at its Surda headquarters to explore cooperation to advance women’s economic empowerment and promote financial inclusion, with a particular focus on women’s participation in non-banking financial sectors. The discussion covered the Authority’s regulatory policies and initiatives to support women’s engagement in the financial and economic sectors, including efforts to help women-owned or women-led small and medium enterprises access non-banking sources of finance and to address barriers limiting women’s participation in non-banking finance. BPW-Palestine highlighted the need to integrate women into regulation, development and oversight processes, and to increase women’s representation on boards, committees and in decision-making roles. Both sides also discussed expanding financial literacy initiatives for women to improve access to and effective use of non-banking financial services and strengthen awareness of financial rights, and reaffirmed their intention to work together on an enabling framework for women’s participation in the financial sector.
