The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina reported that Governor Jasmina Selimovic held bilateral meetings with senior World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) officials on the margins of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings, focusing on cooperation to support financial stability, strengthen institutional capacities and improve the investment environment. In discussions with World Bank Executive Director Eugene Rhuggenaath, Selimovic highlighted the importance of implementing the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), linking potential access to closer integration into the European financial market and easier cross-border payments for citizens and businesses. Talks with World Bank Vice President Antonella Bassani covered regional challenges including the green transition, energy security and resilience to external shocks, alongside the role of maintaining macroeconomic stability and a monetary policy anchored in security and confidence. A separate meeting with IMF European Department Director Alfred Kammer reviewed current macroeconomic trends in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Europe, inflation pressures and geopolitical challenges, with a focus on IMF technical assistance and alignment with EU standards in support of the European integration process. Selimovic also attended a meeting of the Dutch-Belgian Constituency to coordinate positions and exchange information among member countries.
