The board also acknowledged Ron Smith’s departure after completing his full term as a community director. Marshall joins as a finance and board professional with more than 30 years’ experience across treasury, pension fund management, capital markets and investor relations, including roles at Vestcor Inc. and previously at BCE and Bell Canada. Solehdin joins as a technology executive and board director with more than 20 years’ leadership in digital transformation, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and currently serves as a director of Consumer Protection BC. OBSI noted that its bylaws require a majority of directors, including the chair, to be independent from industry for at least two years, with these independent directors designated as community directors; three community directors are also designated as consumer interest directors, and the board also includes three industry directors affiliated with participating firms.
