The Taiwan Financial Services Commission published updated supervisory statistics showing domestic banks’ outstanding loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) reached NT$10,464 billion at end-April 2025, up NT$52.5 billion from end-March. SME lending represented 64.44% of total loans to total enterprises and 68.12% of total loans to private enterprises, increases of 0.36 and 0.2 percentage points respectively versus end-March. The average non-performing loan ratio for SME loans was 0.24% in April, down 0.01 percentage points from end-March. The FSC reiterated its expectation that banks continue to expand SME lending with risk control and management in place.
