Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, OJK) published a press release on a joint women’s financial education programme with the Association of Wives of the Indonesian Economists Association (PIISEI), themed “Smart Investing and Transacting in the Digital Era” for PIISEI members. The hybrid event in Jakarta drew around 1,000 participants. OJK’s Executive Head for Financial Services Business Conduct Supervision, Education and Consumer Protection, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, highlighted the need for women to have basic financial knowledge to support household decision-making and reduce exposure to digital financial crimes and illegal entities, including by understanding risks associated with paylater services, online loans and financial investments. The programme included a talkshow covering an introduction to OJK and awareness of illegal financial entities, practical financial planning and investing guidance, and sharing on scam approaches used by illegal operators. OJK and PIISEI positioned the collaboration as a way to broaden the reach of financial education and strengthen women’s role in building financially resilient families in the digital era.
