The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) was listed among participating agencies in a national enforcement sprint coordinated through the Canadian Integrated Response to Organized Crime (CIROC) Committee to disrupt illegal fentanyl production and distribution in Canada and target the supply of chemical precursors. The operation ran from 9 December 2024 to 18 January 2025 and generated 489 fentanyl and synthetic-opioid related occurrences, resulting in 524 arrests. Reported seizures included 46.17 kg of fentanyl, 15,765 pills of fentanyl and other synthetic opioids (including benzimidazole, izonitazene, hydromorphone and oxycodone), 44.70 kg and 973 methamphetamine pills, and 29.61 kg of cocaine, alongside 122 firearms, 33 stolen vehicles and CAD 813,954.27 in cash. CIROC is co-chaired by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Sûreté du Québec and brings together federal, provincial and municipal agencies, including FINTRAC. A number of investigations launched prior to and during the sprint remain active.
