The National Commission for Financial Markets hosted an information session for law students from the Moldova State University to deepen understanding of capital market mechanisms and the supervisor’s role. Led by CNPF Vice-President Vladimir Rusnac, the discussion covered the market’s evolution from privatisation to the modern regulatory framework, crowdfunding and the first authorisation of a voluntary pension fund in Moldova, and the practicalities of trading financial instruments including shareholder rights, the role of brokers, portfolio management and assessing risk proportionality. In the context of a more digital financial environment, the session also focused on vigilance and financial security, including how to identify and avoid fraud, pyramid schemes and fictitious investment platforms, and the main risks of transacting in cryptoassets on unauthorised platforms.
