The Jordan Securities Commission has signed a memorandum of understanding with the German Jordanian University to strengthen cooperation on capital markets education, student training and awareness of securities market legislation and international practices. The memorandum provides for periodic training lectures for students on financial market topics, proposed Commission-developed educational materials to be integrated into relevant courses, and a dedicated student programme to present new financial ideas, particularly in financial technology, with scope to support viable proposals. It also covers technical cooperation between specialists, joint scientific research, joint organisation of lectures, workshops, seminars and scientific conferences, and the exchange of publications and research outputs. The university indicated readiness to cooperate on areas including virtual and digital currencies and to develop tracks related to financial services, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and financial technology, while the framework also contemplates academics participating in joint advisory committees with the Commission to support updates to regulatory and legislative frameworks.
