The National Bank of Georgia has introduced a new data collection and analysis methodology based on sex-disaggregated data to track financing to women entrepreneurs, supported by amendments to its information disclosure regulation for commercial banks and microbanks. The changes are intended to create MSME financing data by sex in Georgia, which had not previously been available. Work on the framework began in 2023 and included developing, with stakeholders, a unified definition of “woman entrepreneur” alongside standardised terminology and a reporting form for banks. Commercial banks have already prepared initial reports using 2024 data, with regular quarterly reporting set to begin in 2026.
