The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has completed its first “Certified Financial Awareness Trainer” programme for Ministry of Education and Technical Education staff, aimed at qualifying teachers to act as FRA ambassadors in spreading financial literacy on non-banking financial services and activities. The cohort included 21 teachers from Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia working in industrial, commercial and hotel technical education, under a cooperation protocol between the FRA and the ministry. Participants received training on the FRA-supervised non-banking financial sector, including capital markets, financing and insurance, and on non-banking financial products and how they support company growth as well as individual and institutional investing, saving and insurance. The FRA linked the initiative to its broader strategy to raise public awareness of non-banking financial, insurance and investment solutions in line with Egypt’s financial inclusion agenda, and highlighted the role of strategic partnerships with state bodies in expanding uptake, particularly among youth, alongside greater attention to technology-driven risks and safe risk management. The FRA indicated it will continue implementing financial literacy efforts through ongoing strategic partnerships to broaden the base of users of non-banking financial services and activities.
