The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa) announced that a video produced by pupils from Novska Secondary School won its “Caught in the Web – Spot the Scam!” competition, with the award ceremony held at Hanfa’s premises as part of Global and European Money Week. The winning team received an interactive display as the main prize, alongside a certificate and symbolic gifts. The competition sought to strengthen pupils’ ability to identify financial fraud, particularly increasingly sophisticated online and social media scams, and attracted 37 video submissions from secondary schools across Croatia. Hanfa’s jury assessed creativity and, in particular, how well entries explained fraud risks and practical ways to protect money, with Hanfa noting that many videos focused on romantic scams. Zvane Črnja Secondary School in Rovinj placed second and the School of Economics and Office Administration in Bjelovar placed third. Hanfa indicated the awards are part of a broader Global and European Money Week programme and that it will continue delivering lectures for primary and secondary school pupils and university students as part of its year-round financial education activities.
