The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) reported that its Vice President, Sonia Salvatierra, participated in a seminar organised by the Ibero-American Institute of Securities Market (IIMV) in Antigua Guatemala and delivered a presentation on sustainable finance in Argentina, focusing on recent regulatory advances and local market experience. In her remarks, Salvatierra highlighted recent CNV regulatory progress and initiatives led by market participants, and described key characteristics of sustainable finance instruments issued domestically. She also framed CNV’s work as developing novel regulatory frameworks to modernise the capital market, promote transparency and accessibility, and align with high international standards, noting the value of peer exchanges for cooperation. The seminar brought together regulators and experts from across the region and Spain to discuss topics including the evolution of sustainability disclosure obligations in the European Union, the role of markets and products in the new financial ecosystem, and experiences with sovereign green bond issuance and sustainable investment funds, as well as supervisory and regulatory challenges around integrating environmental, social and governance criteria into issuance prospectuses.
