Initial checks found the bus was insured with Mittare Insurance Public Company Limited under both compulsory motor insurance and voluntary Type 3 motor insurance for the period 31 December 2024 to 31 December 2025. Compulsory cover includes THB 500,000 per person for death or permanent total disability, injury medical expenses up to THB 80,000 per person, THB 200,000 to THB 500,000 per person for loss of organs, THB 300,000 per person for permanent disability, and an inpatient daily benefit of THB 200 per day up to 20 days. The Type 3 policy includes third-party bodily injury cover of THB 500,000 per person capped at THB 10,000,000 per accident, property damage liability of THB 600,000 per accident, and personal accident benefits under policy endorsements including THB 50,000 for the driver and THB 50,000 per passenger for 43 passengers, plus medical expenses of THB 50,000 per person and driver bail cover of THB 300,000 per accident; the OIC also coordinated with the insurer to settle eligible hospital bills directly so injured parties do not need to advance payments. The OIC noted that compensation for fatalities remains subject to the ongoing official investigation process and is working with the Thai Life Insurance Association and Thai General Insurance Association to identify any additional insurance policies held by victims so benefits can be paid in line with policy terms.
