Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) and capital market self-regulatory organizations convened analysts, economists, financial influencers and other market participants to discuss recent market developments and gather input on strengthening market integrity, transparency and investor confidence. The dialogue continues the accelerated capital market integrity reform agenda, including measures previously introduced to expand ownership disclosures, improve investor classification data and highlight concentrated shareholdings. Priorities include further strengthening market transparency, communicating with global index providers and investors, and developing evidence-based recommendations that OJK and the self-regulatory organizations can act on. OJK also linked enforcement to the integrity agenda, citing administrative fines totaling IDR 2.1 trillion announced on Oct. 16 against parties connected to capital market violations and stressing that the sanctions resulted from completed examinations rather than a reactive response to recent market conditions.
