The Central Bank of Jordan published preliminary data showing a sharp rise in tourism income and a more moderate increase in remittances from Jordanian expatriates. Tourism income rose 34.2% in April 2025 to USD 710.3 million and increased 15.3% in the first third of 2025 to USD 2,427.4 million, while expatriate remittances rose 5.2% in March 2025 to USD 283.4 million and increased 3.0% in the first quarter of 2025 to USD 889.1 million. The increase in tourism income was attributed to a 19% rise in the number of tourists, with higher income recorded across all nationalities, including expatriate Jordanians (7.5%), Europeans (20.7%), Americans (20.5%), Arabs (15.6%), and other nationalities (38.2%). Spending on tourism abroad also increased, rising 6.5% in April 2025 to USD 155.4 million and 12.8% in the first third of 2025 to USD 646.0 million.
