The Central Bank of Chile released preliminary regional national accounts results for 2025, alongside updated estimates for regional gross domestic product (GDP) and household consumption. National GDP grew 2.5% in 2025, household consumption rose 2.7%, and exports of goods and services increased 4.6%. GDP expanded in 14 of Chile’s 16 regions and household consumption increased in 15, while exports rose in 12 regions. By macrozone, all areas contributed positively to GDP, led by the Metropolitan Region, with the North and Center also among the largest contributors. Export growth was driven mainly by the North and Center South, while the Center was the only macrozone with a negative contribution. Commerce, personal services, manufacturing, and business services were the main positive contributors to national growth, while mining and electricity, gas and water were the main negative contributors. Export gains were associated with shipments of fruit, mining products, and food, while services exports were supported by tourism spending. The revised regional GDP and household consumption series incorporate updated national aggregates for 2023 to 2025 from the Annual National Accounts and new quarterly figures published on 18 March, together with updated indicators and administrative records used to allocate national aggregates across regions under a top-down estimation method. Updates drew on sources including education enrolment records, the 2024 Engineering Works Survey, property cadastre data, 2024 fisheries and forestry yearbooks, new monthly tax information, updated administrative records from the Unemployment Fund Administrator and the Office of the Comptroller General, and revisions to the enterprise directory and data cleaning and regional assignment processes, resulting in revisions across all periods that rely on these inputs.
