The Reserve Bank of Australia published its February 2026 financial aggregates, showing total credit rising by 0.6% over the month and 7.8% over the year. Broad money increased by 0.8% in February and 7.7% over the year. Housing credit grew by 0.6% in February and 7.1% over the year, while personal credit rose by 0.4% over the month and 4.3% over the year. Business credit, defined as lending to non-financial businesses, increased by 0.8% in February and 9.5% over the year. The RBA noted that growth rates are seasonally adjusted and adjusted for series breaks, and that historical levels and growth rates have been revised following data resubmissions by some financial intermediaries, re-estimation of seasonal factors and incorporation of securitisation data; the credit aggregates cover credit provided by financial institutions operating domestically and exclude cross-border and non-intermediated lending.
