The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has begun its chairship of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) and convened regulators for the first ACMF Deputies Meeting in Coron, Palawan, setting the direction for work across the Forum’s key workstreams. The chairship is framed around the ACMF Action Plan 2026 to 2030 and a “RISE” agenda covering Regional integration, Inclusivity, Sustainable finance, and collaborative Enforcement. Priority outputs highlighted under the SEC’s chairship include an ASEAN Code of Conduct for External Verifiers in Sustainable Finance, an expanded ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard Regional Assessment, the establishment of an ACMF Knowledge Network of Supervisory and Enforcement Directors, completion of the next phase of the Mitigation co-benefit and Adaptation for Resilience (mARs) Guide, and promotion of ASEAN as an asset class through the ASEAN Diamonds. Alongside the Deputies Meeting, the SEC hosted a preparatory meeting for the supervisory and enforcement knowledge network and reported hosting the first in-person meeting of the ASEAN Taxonomy Board in Makati earlier in the month. Further ACMF events are scheduled during the year, including an ACMF Chairs’ Meeting in March to deliberate issues elevated from the Deputies’ level and provide strategic guidance on initiatives.
