The Bank of the Republic of Burundi reported that its Governor, Edouard Normand Bigendako, met a World Bank delegation conducting a mid-term evaluation of the Burundi Digital Economy Foundations Support Project (PAFEN), taking stock of progress across project-funded activities, including those implemented for the central bank. The World Bank mission welcomed implementation progress, highlighting an engagement rate of around 85% of the budget allocated for the current fiscal year. Both sides reaffirmed their intention to continue working together to accelerate completion of the remaining activities and achieve the project’s objectives to strengthen the foundations of Burundi’s digital economy.
