The Central Bank of Turkmenistan published a readout of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s online Cabinet of Ministers meeting reviewing economic results for the first two months of the year and setting instructions for ministries to sustain growth and meet production plans. The government reported GDP growth of 6.3%, an overall 9.4% increase in output versus the same period of 2024, retail turnover growth of 12.1% and foreign trade turnover growth of 8.1%, with state budget revenues executed at 102.1% of plan and expenditures at 97.5%. Supporting indicators included a 10.9% year-on-year increase in wages at large and medium-sized enterprises and a 27.3% increase in capital investment volumes. Sector updates covered over-fulfilment of plans in oil production (Türkmennebit at 105.8%) and reported growth in transport and communications services (117.2%), alongside broader reports on legislative drafting and amendments, and on preparations for an international economic cooperation conference in Ashgabat. The international conference is scheduled for 19 March and is expected to include sessions on regional energy and transport projects, including the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline, as well as the participation of financial institutions in project implementation, with bilateral meetings planned on the sidelines.
