Luxembourg’s Ministry of Finance issued a communiqué on Finance Minister Gilles Roth’s 23–28 February 2026 financial mission to India, conducted with Luxembourg for Finance, focused on strengthening links between the Luxembourg and Indian financial centres through high-level policy and supervisory engagement. In New Delhi, Roth met India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss new avenues for bilateral cooperation and practical synergies between the two financial ecosystems, and held talks with the Chief Minister of Gujarat on collaboration opportunities including GIFT City. He also delivered remarks at the Global Securities Markets Conclave 2.0, and in Mumbai continued discussions with key market institutions and authorities including the Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Board of India, covering capital market development and India’s economic outlook, as well as potential cooperation in digitalisation and sustainable finance.
