Moldova's National Commission for Financial Markets issued a consumer warning that borrowing from private individuals or unauthorised entities is done at the borrower’s own risk and does not fall under the authority’s supervision or legal protection. The CNPF clarified that it can intervene only when a loan is contracted from an authorised financial-sector entity, namely a bank, a non-bank credit organisation (OCN) or a savings and loan association (AEÎ). Any problems arising from loans taken from individuals or other unauthorised lenders cannot be resolved by the financial market supervisor.
