The Bank of Greece has launched Global Money Week 2026 in its role as national coordinator, setting out a package of financial education and communication activities under the theme “Smart Money Talks”. The central focus of its 2026 programme is reducing the gender gap in financial literacy, including initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment in saving and investment. A new social media campaign by the Bank of Greece Communications Unit is set to roll out a short original video and supporting information material aimed mainly at young women. The Bank of Greece Museum will run a new educational programme from 17 to 20 March 2026, “Smart Money Talks: Ask, Learn, Prosper”, linked to its temporary exhibition “Personal Finance” and designed to explore the circular relationship between savings, investment and economic growth. The coordinator role also includes outreach to financial education stakeholders to encourage broader participation, with a larger number of organisations registered for 2026, including Alpha Bank, National Bank of Greece, the Hellenic Capital Market Commission and the Hellenic Bank Association. Global Money Week 2026 runs from 16 to 22 March 2026.
