The National Bank of Moldova released banking system statistics on cash operations for January–September 2025, showing a net cash outflow from banks’ cash desks as cumulative cash withdrawals exceeded cumulative cash receipts by MDL 3,617.2 million. Over the period, cumulative cash receipts totalled MDL 136,864.6 million, while cumulative cash withdrawals reached MDL 140,481.7 million. Receipts increased by MDL 7,295.5 million (+5.6%) year on year, led by cash receipts from sales of consumer goods of MDL 79,866.5 million (58.4% of total, up MDL 3,712.8 million or +4.9%). Cash credited to individuals’ current and deposit accounts totalled MDL 13,587.4 million (up MDL 1,996.1 million or +17.2%), while “other receipts” amounted to MDL 18,827.1 million (up MDL 1,171.2 million or +6.6%) as defined in the reporting instruction on banks’ cash operations. Withdrawals rose by MDL 6,889.0 million (+5.2%) compared with the same period of the previous year; the totals for receipts and withdrawals include transactions in commemorative coins.
